I didn't find massage until I was in college working on my Bachelor's degree and working full time as a waitress. The stress was causing tension knots in my upper back and neck, and sciatica pain on a daily basis. I was lucky enough that one of my friends was in massage school at that time and she offered to work on me. The relief I found from massage was life changing... literally. I switched my major to business and concurrently signed up for massage school in the fall of 2002.
I've found that helping others the same way I was helped all those years ago gives me purpose. While I did take a short break from massage while I was obtaining my Masters degree and while I had my son, I've always been drawn back to massage for the fulfillment it provides when I can help someone else.
I've continued my massage and bodywork studies over the years. I obtained my National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) in 2006 and have been licensed in other states with a current license in Georgia. Some of my hands on continuing education include:
When I'm not running my son around for school and sports, we spend as much time outside as possible. I love our North Georgia area and spend time hiking, swimming, walking the dog, and on the SUP. I also foster with Safe Pet and try to stay actively involved in my community. I look forward to working with you and continuing this life-changing world of massage and bodywork.
