Massage Techniques

Swedish Massage

The classic relaxation massage technique to calm your body and mind. Swedish massage uses gentle, flowing movements, pampering long strokes, and a light touch. There is no poking and prodding into the deeper muscle tissue. Swedish massage induces total relaxation, improves circulation, and relieves overall tension.

Therapeutic Massage

Applying sustained, firm to deep pressure, and focused attention to muscle tension, restriction areas, and pain denotes this type of massage technique. Therapeutic massage may utilize deep tissue, sports, neuromuscular, Thai, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, or a combination of these therapies to target the deeper layers of troubled muscle areas and connective tissue to provide relief.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot stone massage helps relieve pain using therapeutic warmth to melt tension away and produce a deep state of relaxation. The Basalt (volcanic) or Salt stones are heated and incorporated within the massage experience to penetrate into the muscles for deeper work. With 84 trace minerals, sallt stones offer you unparalleled healing, detoxification, and rejuvenation. Hot stone massage helps relieve chronic pain and enhance movement by treating trigger points, muscle adhesions, and connective tissue patterns while maintaining relaxation.

Lomi Lomi Massage

Lomi Lomi massage is an ancient Hawaiian restorative healing system that reflects the connection we have with the land ('aina), the spirit guide or ancestors ('aumakua), and the breath of life (aloha). It utilizes long sweeping movements of the hands, forearms, and elbows where the strokes mimic the ocean waves. Multiple body parts can be massaged at the same time instead of focusing on one part at a time.

Pre-natal/Maternity Massage

The Pre-natal massage is tailored to the needs of the mama-to-be in her 2nd or 3rd trimester. This massage is recommended to help relax, de-stress, and lift the spirits of pregnant women as their bodies are changing.

* Massage is inadvisable for women in their 1st trimester.

Gua Sha

The traditional Chinese medicine practice of Gua Sha is a spot treatment in which tools are used to scrape the skin. It's believed that Gua Sha releases unhealthy matter from blood stasis within muscles to stimulate new oxygenated blood flow to the area. This promotion of metabolic cell repair and regeneration can result in healing and recovery with a reduction in pain, inflammation, and increased blood flow.

* Light petechiae may result in the treatment area(s).
